Promises are being made about fuel costs going down in 2022 upon retirement once the mine is no longer burning coal. CM Campbell asks, why do you keep using it if it costs more? Cleco and swepco reps say it was run during winter storm URI.

@fishing1262 @AEPTexas The power pole was in my parents backyard, in an alleyway that was specifically built for use by AEP, Swepco, Centex, etc — you have all the access you need, but no one has ever replaced it, never tried to fix it, nothing. The lines droop below 6’ in the back yard in spots.

@Stromburski Yep. Hopefully swepco gets on it but the university said "SWEPCO has had a substation event resulting in a loss of power to our south Fayetteville facilities. There is currently no timeline for when power may be restored, but we will provide updates as they arrive."

We do know of over 1,800 Swepco customers without power in Prairie Grove tonight. A powerline may have gone down near the Sonic there.Hoping power can be restored soon... not a good night to be without it#arwx

@HBattlebot We’re in ETX, and thankful to have SWEPCO instead of ERCOT, but got a generator this year, with a 250 gallon propane tank ~ propane doesn’t go bad like gasoline does. Happy to have had it a couple of times this last summer!

Com. Francis points out that Cleco's high costs in recent months has been associated with the high costs of Dolet Hills (a lignite coal plant co-owned by cleco and swepco) which has retired early. The hope is that once Dolet Hills & associated fuel costs are gone, costs decrease.

damn, we might be in a financial crunch next month. Our electric bill jumped from $60 to $236. We are on a fixed income and there is zero chance we can pay it. And I know swepco, they'll just shrug, can't you pay it somehow?
