Wayne State University is a premier, public, urban research university located in the heart of Detroit. The 200-acre traditional and high-tech campus is in the heart of Midtown, offering unparalleled access to cultural experiences, community involvement, and corporate career opportunities. Wayne State University is the third largest institution of higher learning in Michigan and the most diverse campus in the state with nearly 25,000 students from every U.S. state and nearly 80 countries. Wayne State is home to 13 colleges offering over 350 degree programs. The campus hosts a business incubator known as TechTown and the first graduate-level repertory theater in America called the Hilberry Theatre. The Wayne State Warriors also field 18 men’s and women’s Division II athletics teams.

Wayne State University is a great University to attend. A bit expensive but the knowledge that I obtained while attending there was great. Many of my teachers were very caring, and passionate. The professors and staff went above and beyond for their students to help them succeed. The workload could be a bit heavy depending on the professor, but I believe that is with any school. I went to Wayne State University for their School of Social Work program and I loved it. I am looking forward to starting the Master's degree program in May.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here at Wayne State thus far. Not only is there plenty to explore and experience, the city life, the diversity, and opportunities are what makes it worthwhile! The diversity among the student body is enriching in that as an individual, you're able to meet others and collaborate to gain new perspectives. Being in the heart of Detroit, Wayne State is surrounded by all kinds of activities, events, concerts, and more. One thing that I have thoroughly enjoyed during my time at Wayne State were all the different music venues around the city, offering every type of music you can think of! You can find it all downtown. Growing up in the Metro Detroit area, I was familiar with the area before I finally transferred to Wayne. If there was anything I could change, it might be to add more food options on campus and to possibly add more "hang-out" type areas outdoors/interactive seating. Seeing more art around campus would be pretty neat, too.
