When you first load into Redfall, things can be overwhelming. As a co-op looter shooter, it throws a lot at you, and some things may be easier to understand than others. In this Redfall Tips and Tricks guide, we'll tell you everything you'll need to know about becoming the ultimate vampire hunter.

Loot Everything

You should always pick up everything you can. If you loot junk, it'll automatically be converted into cash for you that you can use to purchase better gear. The same goes for weapons. As you play through Redfall, you'll run into many different guns, even if they're weaker than what you picked up. Because they can be scrapped, you'll receive some money from it after you do that.

Find Markers To Fast Travel

As you explore Redfall, you'll eventually run into Landmarks. These are extremely helpful because you can use them to fast-travel once they're discovered. But be careful because these will usually have you spawn out in the open, and more often than not, there'll be an enemy patrolling the area.

Clear Safehouses

Whenever you discover a Safehouse, you should clear them out right away. Once they're secure, you'll be able to fast-travel to them, and when you're inside one, you can purchase gear.

You Can't Fast Travel If You're Taking Damage

Whenever you fast-travel anywhere, your character will pull up a map, and you'll have to wait a few seconds. If you take any damage within that short amount of time, it'll cancel your fast travel. So make sure no one is around you when trying to fast-travel.

There Is Fall Damage

Whatever you do, don't jump off a cliff if you're low on health. Because you will take damage and potentially die.

Avoid Walking Into Red Mist

Red Mist prevents you from walking from one area to another, and if you do decide to run through it, you'll lose a lot of health fast.

If You Jump Over Red Mist, You Won't Take Any Damage

If you plan on going through Red Mist, make sure you have enough room to jump over it. Because if you're above it, you won't take any damage, but the second you touch the mist, you'll begin losing health. So make sure it's worth the risk before you do so.

Shoot Oil Puddles

You'll often spot oil puddles on the ground whenever you're in an area with many cars. They're easy to see because of how shiny and colorful they are. What makes things great is that they are often near an enemy. When these puddles are shot, they'll catch on fire and damage anyone standing in them.

Cars Can Blow Up

If you find yourself in a firefight, and an enemy begins to use the car as cover, start shooting the car instead of shooting at them. After a few shots, the car will explode and damage anyone around it.

Dying Cost Money

Although it should go without saying, try not to die. Because if you do, you'll be charged a fee, depending on how much money you save. For example, having at least ten thousand will cost you nearly $1,100 to return.

You Don't Take Damage As You're Staking Vamps

The only way to kill a vampire is by sticking a stack through its heart. Luckily when you're in the animation, you won't take any damage from enemies around you. So if you see a vampire that needs to be killed, quickly run to it and use a stake.

Ignore the Vampire Nest Timer

After you clear a Vampire Nest and destroy the heart, you'll have a short amount of time to loot and escape. But you shouldn't worry about leaving on time. If you fail to make it to the exit you'll only lose out on some experience points. Once the timer runs out, you'll spawn right outside the door, like you would if you made it to the exit on time.

You Can Run Forever

There's no stamina bar in Redfall, so if you want to, you can run forever. This becomes especially helpful when you get overwhelmed by enemies because if that happens, just run in the opposite direction, and eventually, they'll stop following you.

If You See Shiny Light From An Enemy, It's A Sniper

If you find yourself in a firefight and see a shiny light looking at you, take cover immediately because it's a sniper. If you don't, you'll take a lot of damage from them. They usually hang out in the back, away from the front.

Shotguns Are Overpowered

Throughout Redfall, you're bound to switch through various weapons, but one gun you should always keep in your inventory is a shotgun. They're one of the most useful and powerful weapons in the game.

Always Carry Lock Picks And Rewire Kits

Lock Picks and Rewire Kits can be found in the wild or purchased from vendors. Either way, it's extremely important to carry both of them on you at all times because you'll often run into a locked building, and the only way to enter it is by using one of the two.
