Aid Station
The aid station is located at the loop turn-around for half marathon runners, which is about halfway (3.5 miles) into the 6.55 mile loop. The half marathon will run the 6.55 mile loop twice, which means access to the aid station twice. There will not be an aid station on-course for 5-mile runners, but food and hydration will be available at the finish.
The aid station offers water, electrolyte drink, and some carbohydrate-rich or salty foods, such as cookies, pieces of energy bar, gels, chews, chips, bagel, fruity candy, fig bars, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and/or bananas.

Safety, Etiquette & Dogs
GENERAL SAFETY
The trails will be open to other users during the event, including pedestrians, horseback riders, and cyclists. Participants are responsible for their own safety while participating, and the organizers are neither qualified nor equipped to render medical care in the event of a serious injury. In case of an emergency, call 9-1-1. You are encouraged to bring a cell phone with you as a safety precaution, if you wish.
COVID-19 & RESPIRATORY VIRUS SAFETY
Outdoors settings are among the safest, due to the open air dissipating virus particles to greatly reduce the risk of transmission. However, fall and winter are respiratory virus season, so please continue to take simple precautions:
- Get your flu and COVID-19 shots when possible
- Mask wearing is generally not required at our events, but you are welcome to wear a mask if you feel it is best for your own health
- Please stay home if you are sick (with any contagious respiratory virus); we’ll happily give you a credit toward another race or a full refund
- Keep a six foot distance from others when it is practical, or at least avoid being in close proximity for a long time in still air
- Limit touching of shared surfaces and items, and clean your hands before and after
- We encourage you to wear a mask when riding a shuttle bus
Thank you for helping us keep our events safe and fun for you and everyone else!
PASSING ETIQUETTE
Where the trails are narrow, please let other participants pass you if they want to get by. It is a passing runner’s job to tell the person in front that they wish to pass.
HEADPHONES
If you’d like to listen to music while you’re on the course, please use headphones or earbuds, so that runners around you can’t hear it. Others may prefer a quieter event experience or may have different musical tastes. Runners playing music in the open air may be asked to choose between turning off the music or leaving the event.
Also, keep the volume low enough that you can hear someone talking to you in a normal voice, for example, another runner saying they would like to pass on your left.
DOGS
Pets are not allowed in Redmond Watershed Preserve. Also, our events are USATF sanctioned and subject to USATF policies, and so dogs are not allowed to accompany runners on the course.
