Percabeth: Getting Married? - Annabeth, I... (2024)

(Percy POV)
The next week, for me, is dedicated to planning the proposal for Annabeth. It took me a while, but I created the most beautiful ring, with help from the Hephaestus cabin. It was a white-gold band with her and my birthstones ingraved, which are the peridot (jade) and the ruby. The jewels, with Hazel's help, are not too big, but most certainly noticeable. It is beautiful, also and with celestial bronze swirled in. I did get a lot of supplies from others, but I thought of it and made it myself. It took a little while, five days of melting, molding, glueing, incasing, and perfecting. I know what I'm gonna do. I have the ring, and I know how I'm gonna propose to her. To my beautiful and amazing Annabeth.

(Annabeth POV)
I feel kind of bad. I have not been hanging out with Percy all week! Not that I care, I mean, I have a lot of buildings to design and measure by next week, and... Ugh. It's complicated. I am trying to find the volume and surface area of this rectangular prism-shaped building.
SA= 2L×w+2L×h+2W×h
V=l×w×h
I am trying to design it to be about 39 feet in height, 85 feet in length, and 31 feet in width. I scold myself. These are such simple formulas that I should've gotten the answer twenty minutes ago, but I keep thinking about Percy, how I sorta miss him. As if on cue, I hear a knock on the Athena cabin door. I reach the door and open it. It's Percy and he says to me, "Annabeth. Get on your nicest clothes, fanciest makeup, and anything else."

"Why, Seaweed Brain? Where are we going?"
"A strip club." he says this simply and I almost revolt. "I'm kidding! We're going to the nicest restaurant in New York. Then we are having a picnic on the beach." I smile, and then I say, "fifteen minutes."
He nods and I shut the door. I start rushing around. Where is it, where is it? I am searching my closet, looking for an old dress. It is a pure silver one, with a turquoise belt at the waist. It also has a sweetheart neckline. The front of the dress's skirt comes up to my knees, while it flows down to my ankles in the back. It was simple looking, yet really pretty and it was the nicest article of clothing I own. It took ten minutes to find and slip on. It still fits! I think triumphantly as I pull my curly blonde hair to both sides. I decide to go out with no makeup; who needs it? I pull on some sneakers (yeah, I know,) and I walk outside to the strawberry field, where Percy is waiting in a very hansome tux. He looks at me with his gorgeous sea-green eyes. "Ready to go, m'lady?" he asks as if i am a princess. I like it a lot. Then I say in the same accent, "Why yes, your majesty."

He returns to his normal voice and says genuinely, "you look beautiful, Annabeth." As we walk, I snort. No, that can't be right, I think to myself solemnly as I stare. He seems to read my mind. "You are the most beautiful girl in the whole universe, one million times more beautiful than Aphrodite herself." Thunder erupts in the sky, but Percy doesn't seem to care. He just continues to walk with me in comfortable silence, and soon we walk to Percy's red prius. We both enter, and He drives me to Lorenson's, the most beautiful place and it has the most delicious foods in New York (let's just say this place is legit) and I gasp. It has such beautiful multi-colored lights, with the grandest architectural design I've ever seen. Well, in New York, maybe. This place has a lovely Greek design, with columns and white marble. It is not too busy, but you can definitely tell people are there. We park the car and walk over to the restaurant. The name Lorenson's is carved into a wood mantle on top of the doors, and the doors you spin open. I can't even describe how marvelous this place is, and it is super classy. This place belongs in Olympus, I think to myself. I stare at Percy in awe. "How did you afford this? It's... Incredible!"
Percy smirked and said misheviously, "I have my ways." We walked up to the man on the podium. "Reservations?" He asks in a thick French accent. "Yes," Percy says calmly. He seems so... mature. "Jackson." I stare at the man and then He scans his reservation book. "Ahhhhh, yes. 'It ez right 'ere. Follow me, if you vould." We follow him gingerly and he leads us to a table on the patio. It is summer, and still daylight, so it is nice and warm. The breeze flows through the trees planted, and it has multi-colored lights streaming from it. Then Percy breaks the silence and says, "Happy birthday, Wise Girl!" I co*ck my head to the right and narrow my eyes in confusion, but then, my eyes widen. July 12th. I was so busy with my job and Percy that I completely forgot! I'm twenty-three! I grin at Percy. "I forgot," I mumbled, feeling dumb as hell.

"It's okay. I got you a present," he exclaims with a wide smile. I wait until he pulls out a box. He hands it to me, and I open it slowly. Its a book! It's one that I have wanted since I was sixteen and we saw it in a store during the war with Kronos. Before I got stabbed, mean. I pointed it out to Percy, and he just nodded. He waited until now to get it! Seaweed Brain, I think with a smile. I stare at it, and it is called, Architectural Design throughout the Ages: From Neandterthal Times to Modern Culture. I smile, and I feel great vibes course through me. "Oh, I love you Seaweed Brain!" I exclaimed as I tackle him. It's not just about the book, though. It's everything about Percy. He is basically my everything, besides my job, and my friends. Percy's not gonna control my life. I am independent! He sits there and eats, along with talking, until we finish. It's around six, and Percy eagerly pays the check. He pulls me along and rushes me into the car. Then he starts humming, "to the beach, oh to the beach, to the beach we go!" He shrieks that over and over until we arrive. I have my hands glued to my ears until he stops singing. He grabs the basket that was in the back of the car and yanks me towards the beach. It's deserted, thank the gods, and the sun is slowly setting over the sea. Percy cracks a loud joke that I laugh at really hard. "Hey Apollo? Trying to give my Daddy a kiss?" I laugh so hard, I almost fall but Percy catches me. Wow, I think to myself. I'm really intoxicated. I don't care enough. I am ecstatic, for which we run on to the grainy hot sand. We pull off our shoes and Percy pulls of part of his tux, revealing his undershirt. He also pulls off his pants, showing his boxers. I feel mortified, until he assures me, "they're swim shorts." I just laugh and I keep on my dress.

He says that me in a dress makes me look "sexy," but I can't see it. For a few minutes, we set up "camp," which is a blanket, blue cookies, and of course, his phone and a loud speaker. We spend a while dancing, listening to different songs, from break dancing to slow dancing, we laugh and have a great time. The cookies are fantastic, and the sun did not even set yet, as if it were waiting for something. I did not know what though. We just dance for a while, and sit in the water. The song "Mine" by Taylor Swift plays, and it is accurate for where we are. This night is absolutely perfect.

(Aphrodite's POV)

"Oh my goodness! They're dancing! PERCABETH!" Aphrodite exclaims so loudly that she thinks all of Olympus can hear her. She doesn't care, though. She wipes tears of joys from her smooth skin as she watches with glee. She takes a handful of popcorn and stuffs it in her mouth as they slow dance. She screams, "DON'T MOVE, APOLLO! YOU MUST STAY UNTIL PERCY PROPOSES!"

Poseidon bursts in the door and gives her an are-you-insane? Look. "What on Earth do you think you're doing?" Poseidon asks as he analyzes the room. "Why are you spying on my son?"

Aphrodite giggled misheviously. "You know that Percy's planning to propose! I must watch! I am the goddess of love, after all!"

"I am glad you think my son's relationship with Annabeth is interesting, but Athena is planning to murder you. She is trying to accept Percy more, especially since she will most likely be his in-law, but you're making it worse! She's screaming insults and curses!"

"Fine. I'll be quiet." Aphrodite pouts.
"Good. Because I'm watching with you."

Soon, the gods start craming themselves in Aphrodite's quarters to watch. Now, most of Olympus is going to watch the fate of Percabeth.

(Percy POV)

Okay. It's time. I'm gonna. I'm proposing to Wise Girl. Breathe, Jackson, breathe. I stand up to get Annabeth's phone, (along with the box secretely) and I hand the phone to her. "Turn to the sky and take a picture."

She looks confused. "Why?"
I smirk. "So you can remember this moment on our date." She shrugged and turned to take a picture. I pull out the box with the ring in it and open it. "Look Percy, I did not see the point in that..." she gasped when she saw it.
"Annabeth, i... wanted to say... That," I clear my throat.

"Annabeth Chase, ever since we were twelve, I have always known you would be my best friend. You are smart, funny, independent, loyal, beautiful, ah. There are an infinite amount of adjectives to describe you In such a positive way. You are my sun, my moon and stars, my space and my world, everything I do is for you and we went through everything together. Even hell itself! I just wanted to let you know that I love you more than anyone, and that I fell in love with my best friend. You. So, Annabeth Chase, will you marry me?"

(Ha I left you with a cliffhanger. Read on to find out what she says!)
